What is Mammography?

Mammography is a specialized radiological imaging method that uses low-dose X-rays to visualize breast tissue. It is one of the most widely used screening tools for the early detection of breast cancer and other breast diseases.

Regular annual mammography screenings are especially important for women over the age of 40. In some cases, based on a physician’s recommendation, mammography can also be performed at a younger age.

At our center, we use high-resolution digital mammography systems to provide sensitive and reliable imaging services for early detection of breast conditions.

Mammography Services Offered at Our Center

Single-Breast Mammography

• Focuses on either the right or left breast.
  
• Used to detect masses, microcalcifications, cysts, or other abnormalities.
  
• Recommended when there is pain, a palpable lump, or noticeable symptoms in one breast.

Bilateral Mammography (Both Breasts)

• Standard mammogram used to evaluate both breasts symmetrically.
  
• Commonly performed during routine annual screenings or in patients with a family history or genetic risk.
  
• Also recommended for women who notice changes in breast tissue.

Single-Breast Oblique Mammography

• Captures the breast from an angled (oblique) perspective for a broader view.
  
• Especially useful for detailed examination of areas close to the chest wall.
  
• Helps in further evaluation of suspicious lesions or asymmetric findings.
